Welcome to The Shoutgun Dust Devils Barbarian Guide! Finally, after a long wait, Dust Devils have risen again to take Sanctuary by storm and dish out catastrophic amounts of damage in and outside your screen.
Shoutgun Dust Devils Barbarian Endgame Build Guide for Diablo IV Season 12 - Slaughter
Many have tried to make a build around Fierce Winds work in the past and failed. However, with the introduction of Deafening Chorus in Season 10, it is finally possible! This Chaos Perk not only permanently gives you the effects of Rallying Cry, War Cry and Challenging Shout, but also increases their effects by 50% and soft-casts them constantly, which triggers Fierce Winds at a very frequent rate.
By just existing and walking around Sanctuary, you become a force to be reckoned with, passively blowing up any Demon that dares stand in your way.
Requirements for this build
- Deafening Chorus
- Fierce Winds
赛季主题与构筑适配
The Season 10 theme is Infernal Chaos. Infernal portals have sprung up in Helltides, Nightmare Dungeons, and Infernal Hordes. Killing the enemies that spring forth grants Infernal Warp (Seasonal Currency) and progresses the Seasonal Questline, where you unlock Chaos Perks. You can equip any combination of 3 Magic, Rare, and Legendary Perks. You can also have one Unique Perk, unlocked by killing Bartuc in the Infernal Hordes starting in Torment 1.
Endgame Chaos Perks
Base Chaos Perks
- Deafening Chorus is what allows the build to exist. It makes our Shouts active at all times ( "casting" every 1.5 seconds to trigger Fierce Winds) and increases their effects by 50%.
- Unstable Power allows Lunging Strike to also proc Warpath on top of Belligerence .
- Note: Do not use this power if you are still using Lunging Strike as your main skill, like in the Starter Variant.
- Marred Guard is used to enable A Beast Cornered.
Unique Chaos Perk
- A Beast Cornered can be an easy source of extra damage and damage reduction if you can stay at low health consistently. To that end, we are using Marred Guard, which allows us to have a constant 100% damage multiplier and 25% damage reduction.
Chaos Armor
In addition to the above perks, you may find ancestral Chaos Armor, twisted versions of a hand-picked list of existing Unique items that roll in a different slot from the original with increased power. Note that getting exactly the right setup is very difficult, but in most cases, these can be used interchangeably if you find them in different slots. For more information, make sure to check out the item progression and variant sections below!
Best-in-Slot Chaos Armor
- Battle Trance (BiS: Anywhere).
- Sabre of Tsasgal (BiS:Anywhere).
- Ugly Bastard Helm (BiS:Anywhere).
- Crown of Lucion (BiS:Anywhere).
- Fists of Fate (BiS:Anywhere).
Alternate Chaos Armor
- Tuskhelm of Joritz the Mighty (BiS:Anywhere).

技能与玩法
- Frenzy is not actually used, but we get to benefit from its passive, Combat Frenzy, thanks to Battle Trance.
- Lunging Strike is used for mobility, to proc some passive bonuses, and apply Bleed.
- Whirlwind is our main skill. It generates resource and procs some additional Dust Devils.
- Rallying Cry is mainly used for the Unstoppable effect and to generate Fortify, but it also provides us with a nice Movement Speed buff and some extra Fury generation.
- War Cry gives us a nice extra source of multiplicative damage and Berserking.
- Challenging Shout provides us with a massive damage reduction buff and makes sure we are able to survive some of the most difficult challenges in the game.
- Wrath of the Berserker provides us with a bit more damage and a grouping tool, thanks to its rank 5 effect.
Skill Rotation
- Use Lunging Strike every so often to benefit from Warpath and Belligerence.
- Our Ultimate, Wrath of the Berserker, is used any time it is off cooldown before the existing buff runs out.
- Thanks to its rank 5 ability, Wrath of the Berserker is also used tactically to pull enemies and group them up so you can easily shred them all down.
- Otherwise, just hold down Whirlwind and allow Deafening Chorus to put in the work.
Arsenal System
The Arsenal System allows us to use a specific weapon for every attack skill, with each weapon granting different bonuses. We also have what is called the Technique Slot. With this, we can use any weapon of our choosing to always reap the benefit from, regardless of which weapon we have equipped.
For the purpose of this guide, the Two-Handed Mace is our main weapon choice. This expertise allows us to take advantage of the 2-Handed Mace high base damage, the 15% damage from the expertise, and passives like Wallop and Heavy Handed.
In the Technique Slot, the Two-Handed Axe allows us to deal 10% more damage to Vulnerable enemies. This build has good Vulnerable uptime with some points in Pressure Point and Fists of Fate. Unfortunately, its secondary effect does not apply here - the limitation of the Technique Slot is that it does not allow us to benefit from the second bonus that is normally gained from reaching rank 10 with any weapon expertise.

Use the slider to see the progression steps. At around Paragon 200, leveling slows down significantly and all important Rare clusters, Legendary nodes and Glyph sockets should be unlocked. Afterwards, you can min/max your build with minor tweaks and by picking up additional smaller nodes.

Runes
You can have up to two Runewords in your setup, each consisting of one Ritual and one Invocation Rune. Socket them in Two-Handed Weapons if your build calls for them, otherwise place them into your Armor pieces to replace normal gems. The Whirlwind Barbarian focuses on the following combos:
Best in Slot
- Bac + Tec - Reliable way to create Earthquakes for Earthquakes Aspect.
- Poc + Zec - Really helpful to keep Wrath of the Berserker Cooldown down.
Alternative choices
If you haven't unlocked the final setup or found the top runes, you can also benefit from these options:
- Moni - Great way to generate offering for any build running Lunging Strike.
- Cir - Really easy way to generate a lot of offering on Lunging Strike.
- Ceh - Easy way to get Vulnerable.
- Cem - Decent way to generate some offering early on when you dodge.
- Gar - Extremely useful early on and if you need to cap Critical Strike Chance.
- Yax - Cheap way to get a lot of offering early on, before we get better Runes.
Learn more about Runes and how they work in our dedicated Runewords Overview and Runewords Tier List.
Mercenaries
Mercenaries are unlocked during the Vessel of Hatred campaign and assist you in battle. There are 4 separate Mercenaries to choose from, each with their own skill trees and abilities. You can have one hired (permanent) mercenary during solo play and a reinforcement who assists you from time to time in certain situations.
Hired: Raheir
Raheir is mainly used for Raheir's Aegis, as capping Resistances can be quite the struggle. He also provides us with a bit of extra damage with multipliers from Inspiration.
Reinforcement: Aldkin
Aldkin's Field of Languish gives us an extra damage reduction every so often which ends up making a difference in the long run, specially during Pit Pushing.

Stat Priorities & Item Progression
To enable the Whirlwind Barbarian to perform optimally, hunt for these stats on your gear with good rolls and aim to Temper ⚒️ & Masterwork Crit ↑ them accordingly. The green arrow ↑ indicates which affix is most impactful to Masterwork Crit, and it does not indicate how many Masterwork Crits you need on that particular affix. Keep in mind that certain stats, such as Armor, Resistances, Extra Size Tempers, Attack Speed, and more, have caps that may affect your priorities according to the items and Paragon points available at that moment.
Recommended Endgame Stat Thresholds
- 90%+ Critical Strike Chance
- 3000+ Strength
- 70%+ Chance for Dust Devils to Cast Twice
- Armor Capped 1,000
- Resistance Capped 75%+
- 15,000+ Life
- 180%+ Movement Speed
- 50%+ Ultimate Cooldown Reduction
Item Progression Goals
Before you dive into the Endgame with the Dust Devils Barbarian, take a look at this overview of the items used in the build. See below for further details about the different progression steps and variants. Some of your Skill Tree choices depend on what Legendary Aspects and Unique items are available to you. Keep in mind that while we can guarantee that everyone has access to the same Codex of Power Aspects, the exact progression is different for everyone.

流派变体
This section is designed to guide your Dust Devils Barbarian from a fresh level 60 into the very late endgame using the three variants Starter, Ancestral and Mythic. At the final step, you should be fully decked out with a great all-rounder build. From there, follow the other min/max variants if you want to optimize around certain activities such as Pit Pushing, Speedfarming and more.
If you are fresh in Torment 1 coming from a leveling guide, this is where you begin. Since only some Aspects can be guaranteed from Dungeon unlocks for the Codex of Power, focus on acquiring the additional Aspects via gambling with Murmuring Obols.
Gear & Skills
- During early progression, Armor & Resistances should be prioritized in order to survive. Each Torment difficulty adds a penalty of -250 Armor and -25% to all Resistances and it's recommended to keep both capped at all times; this means having a value of 1,000 for Armor and 75% for each Resistance. As masterworking levels and Paragon points are unlocked, character power naturally scales into the higher difficulties. As this happens, most of these stats can start being replaced with utility or offensive-oriented ones.
- Fierce Winds is our main source of damage, as it allows our Shouts to generate Dust Devils. It also acts as a big damage multiplier for them by converting their size % to a damage multiplier.
- The Earthquakes Aspect is used together with Tec Rune, as the 120% damage multiplier is too big to ignore.
- Devilish is used for a stronger source of targeted damage.
- Bul-Kathos is used since we already generate Earthquakes to get some easy 30% damage reduction.
- Might grants 20% damage reduction that is active pretty much all the time.
- Juggernaut's is quite important to grab early on, as it is needed to max out our Armor for higher difficulties.
- Vehement Brawler's is a nice general damage multiplier, and thanks to the +2 ranks to Ultimate Skills, it helps reduce Wrath of the Berserker cooldown even further to ensure 100% (or close to) uptime.
- Dust Devil's is another great general damage multiplier with Whirlwind.
- Inner Calm is used as we don't have another great option when it comes to damage aspects.
- Elements is used as we don't have another great option when it comes to damage aspects.
- Accursed Touch is used to help with Vulnerable uptime.
- Ghostwalker gives 30% movement speed.
- If Resource is an issue:
- Roll Resource Cost Reduction instead of Critical Damage on weapons.
- Use Poc (or any other trigger) + Lum to recoup some Fury.
- Use Lunging Strike as a generator! Optional points can be taken in Endless Fury as well.
- Roll Fury per Second (can be rolled on Helm, Chest and Boots).

视频演示
Summary
The Dust Devils Barbarian is a very relaxed build that does well in most content, especially speedfarming. Here's why it's a great build:
- Extremely relaxed and chill gameplay!
- High uptime on all Shout buffs: Rallying Cry, War Cry and Challenging Shout.
- High uptime on our Ultimate Wrath of the Berserker.
- High mobility; Whirlwind is one of the few skills that can be used continuously while moving and Lunging Strike is itself a mobility skill.
- Lots of Tornados.
