Evade Spiritborn Leveling Guide for Diablo IV Season 12 - Slaughter

by Ignition/Season 12 - Slaughter/Last Updated: 2026年4月26日Maxroll 导入

Welcome to Season 12's Evade Spiritborn Leveling Guide! This is the one of the best leveling guides for Diablo IV.

This build requires limited actions on your part, just spamming Evade all the way to our Spiritborn Evade Endgame Guide (a.k.a. “Evadeborn”). You vaporize enemies along your path with Storm Feathers, while flying around the map as fast as an Eagle. Your scroll wheel, or controller trigger, is now the main character, so you probably need to oil it up - no warranties apply!

The Eagle Primary Spirit Hall, also known as Eagle Main Hall (EMH), is where your true power comes from. It is part of the Spiritborn Class Mechanic and it is the strongest leveling ability in the game). You do not require any Legendary Aspects or Uniques to play Evade Leveling Spiritborn. Once you unlock the Eagle at level 15, its time to start blasting feathers everywhere!

Season Theme - Kill Streaks

Season 1 - Genesis
Evade Spiritborn

The Season 12 theme brings Killstreaks and Bloodied Items to Diablo 4. Slay enemies in succession to begin a streak that grants increasingly greater benefits based on which affixes you roll on your gear in addition to seasonal reputation and experience. Tiers are divided as follows: Killstreak (0-99) - Carnage (100-249) - Devastation (250-499) - Bloodbath (500-999) - Massacre (1000-9000) - Fresh Meat! (9001+). For most instanced content types, you can typically expect to reach up to the 4th tier (Bloodbath). Additionally, you can find Bloodied Sigils for Nightmare Dungeons, Infernal Hordes and Lair Bosses that offer greater challenges and rewards (introducing "pseudo Torment 5").

Bloodied Items

Bloodied affixes are bonus affixes that can randomly roll on gear and come in three categories: Rampage (armor), Feast (weapons), Hunger (jewelry). The first two offer minor combat effects while the latter boosts specific loot drops, which doesn't impact your build. Recommended affixes for this build are:

  • Rampage: %Dexterity, Movement Speed, Max Life
  • Feast: Gain Berserking
  • Hunger: Increase chance for Hunger Items (to get more amulets)

There is more to discover including the new seasonal Slaughterhouses and how to transform into the Butcher himself. Learn more details about the season theme in our full Season Guide.

技能与玩法

Season 1 - Genesis
Evade Spiritborn
Gameplay Notes

Level 1-14: Pre-Evade Poison Bomb

For an extremely short period until level 15 (& you unlock your Spirit Halls); you level with a "Poison Bomb" combo. This is using Withering Fist & Stinger to "bomb" enemies with massive amounts of poison.

  • Cast Withering Fist 3x to spread poisoning to all nearby enemies.
    • If you hit a vulnerable enemy, it's 3rd attack also spreads vulnerable to nearby enemies.
    • Also cast when needed to regenerate Vigor.
  • Spam Stinger until you're out of Vigor.
    • Stinger spreads its attack to ALL poisoned enemies & makes enemies vulnerable if you're healthy.
    • Stinger heals you when you hit a vulnerable enemy.
  • Enemies are also poisoned passively by Toxic Skin if they hit you.
    • You don't need to activate it, but you can for additional damage against big packs & bosses.
  • Repeat 3x Withering Fist & Stinger "Poison Bomb" combo until the pack is dead.

The majority of the damage comes from Stinger. You only use Sharp Withering Fist for the poisoning spread ability. Use Soar as a mobility skill to quickly move around. Use Withering Fist when you need to regenerate Vigor as well, but make sure you trigger another "3rd Attack" to refresh the "Poison Bomb".

Rotation Breakdown

Skill Rotation: Evade Weaving

  • If this is your first time playing Spiritborn, the you need to unlock the Spiritborn Class mechanic prior to continuing. Once you reach level 15, you have to complete a short questline starting in Gea Kul, Kehjistan.
    • A Priority Quest leads you there to help out Tarka.
    • After a few stops outside of town you have to enter the Sacred Hunting Grounds and defeat the Spirit Beast. While inside this dungeon you have to use the emote wheel at two separate stops, once for "Help", once for "Thanks" in order to progress.
    • The boss fight is relatively long and difficult for low level characters, so it's recommended to do this quest on normal.
  • After finishing the quest your secondary Spirit Hall unlocks automatically at level 30.

Learn more details and how to unlock this system in our full Spiritborn Class Overview.

Level 15+: Switch to Full Evade Leveling Build

You no longer need the Pre-Evade "Poison Bomb" build, redo your skills accordingly. You only need 1 point inThunderspike, but unlock Accelerated Thunderspike. Armored Hide provides 100% block chance & refill Resolve; cast it as soon as its off cooldown. Rock Splitter - Put this on our skill bar, but leave it unused, as it's on the skill bar for Resilient; which gives you more maximum life with base Gorilla skills. Mirage provides additional survival and increased Critical Strike Chance. Time to start Evading!

Skill Rotation: Evade Weaving

Instead of just attacking with normal skills; you purposefully alternate, a.k.a. Weaving, Evade and Thunderspike. You want to evade as often as possible, with Thunderspike resetting your evade cooldown every 3rd attack to regain evade charges.

HOW TO EVADE WEAVE - FOLLOW THESE STEPS:

  1. Hold Position: Prevent normal moving when attempting to attack.
    • Mouse & Keyboard: Toggle Hold or Press the Hold Position Key (default is Shift).
    • Controller: Face the direction you want to Evade.
  2. Thunderspike Attack
    • Mouse & Keyboard: Spam Thunderspike in-between evades is "smoother" than holding down
    • Controller: Press & Hold Thunderspike.
  3. Evade Attack
    • Mouse & Keyboard: Spam Evade (default is Spacebar).
    • Controller: Spam Evade (default is B).
  4. Rinse & Repeat Steps 2 & 3 (until the blasting is done).

Check out this how-to video here.

Your quality of life with Evade greatly improves, if you update your settings to use the following:

  • Thunderspike: Whichever skill position Thunderspike takes on the Skill Bar, change that setting to be something you can comfortably keep pressed / held down while aiming your Evades. (I use Right Mouse or Left Trigger on Controller).
  • Evade: Set Evade to use Scroll Wheel Up AND Scroll Wheel Down (Right Trigger or Directional Stick on Controller)
  • Zoom: Disable Zoom on Mousewheel.
  • Hold Position: Set to Toggle, this way you are not moving the normal way when you toggle it On, allowing you to attack without a target. If you need to turn off the "Hold Position" just hit the same key again to toggle it Off.

NOTE: Some game controls with Mouse & Keyboard, like the emote wheel, assume you have a scroll wheel available and don't work properly. If you need to use it, you need to temporarily unbind scroll wheel.

Add Second Spirit Hall & Ultimate Skill

At level 30, you unlock the Secondary Spirit Hall. Use Gorilla Secondary Spirit Hall (GSH), as this effectively provides permanent Unstoppable and additional damage from Unrestrained Power. Passives Brilliance & Acceleration are fully maximized. You add Soar for additional mobility.

Now to unlock your Ultimate Skill; which is tied to summoning one of the Spirit Guardians to attack alongside you. Use the Centipede Balazan, The Devourer for your Ultimate Skill. While this is not thematically in-line with Eagle; what you gain is increased damage by Supremacy while rapidly stacking kills during an active Ultimate skill due to the Ultimate skill's long uptime.

Key Passive & Additional Utility

Next up is your Key Passive, Vital Strikes. Your Eagle Storm Feathers hits for full Vulnerable damage, then momentarily remove vulnerable and then re-apply vulnerable. So monsters effectively stay permanently vulnerable, while you keep the large damage increase and constant healing.

You add 1 point in Counterattack to provide some additional defense via dodge & additional attacks each time you dodge. Passives Supremacy, Diminishment, & Mirage are maximized for additional damage & defense. Upgrade The Devourer to Rank 5 for additional cooldown reduction.

Additional Passives & Increasing Difficulty

Upgrade to Reinforced Armored Hide for additional defense. Add Intricacy to Rank 2 to allow you to cast Armored Hide up to 2x times in a 7 second period after every time you cast an Ultimate skill without worrying about cooldown. Make sure Armored Hide is the last skill cast before you cast the Ultimate. A large damage increase comes from unlocking the Retribution. You also can maximize your damage by maximizing your movement speed, due to Brilliance, unlock Haste and apply it to your boots. Add 2 points in Resilient for additional maximum life. Unlock Auspicious & Perseverance for additional defense.

By now you have had some large power spikes and you should be able to increase your difficulty. The name of the game with leveling is speed, so if you're going slow then you need to lower the difficulty down a level. You should be starting to imprint Legendary Aspects on to your gear. As you level up, you unlock a lot of extra points that go into various offensive and defensive passives or max out certain skills. Check out the skills progression above to see where to put your points as you go, but feel free to deviate from the order displayed as necessary.

Evading Onward to Torment 1 Starter

Congratulations, you've hit Level 60 and unlocked Paragon. Your focus now is moving on to Torment 1 difficulty, which is unlocked by beating Pit Tier 10. From here on out you are now farming for better gear, increasing value on Legendary Aspects, Uniques that could super-charge your build, and eventually transitioning into an Endgame build. Most of the key synergies are unlocked and the gameplay loop is almost complete. As you have leveled up, you unlock a lot of extra points that go into various offensive and defensive passives or max out certain skills. Check out the skills progression above to see where to put your points as you go, but feel free to deviate from the order displayed as necessary.

NOTE: There is also an Endgame Starter variant that pivots towards the starter build of the Evade Endgame guide in which you switch to Kwalti The Seeker over Balazan The Devourer.

The endgame build looks different from the leveling build due to additional synergies you unlock later, leading to several adjustments on the skill tree and in the Spirit Hall choices. To find out more details, check out the Evade (Evadeborn) Spiritborn Endgame Guide.

You can unlock 12 extra skill points for a total of 71, which you can unlock along the way. Check out our Season Rank Guide for more details.

Gear & Stat Priorities

Season 1 - Genesis
Evade Spiritborn

To get started as an Evade Spiritborn, focus the most on upgrading your weapon as its damage is the base for all further damage calculations, if given a choice between weapon types then choose a Polearm for higher base damage. Otherwise, follow the priority list below. While you don't have all of the desired temper manuals available, simply try to get anything useful on your gear until you get the right ones. For example, % Damage, Devourer Cooldown Reduction, Vulnerable Damage, etc. all work as long as you activate their conditions. Vulnerable damage is the better choice of all those, as enemies are always vulnerable. Likewise, you can temper multiple defensive options such as Resistances, Life, Armor to fill gaps in your survivability. Tempering low level gear is relatively cheap and the results can be very impactful.

Read more about itemization in our Beginner Articles about Damage, Defense and Stats.

Legendaries & Uniques

Season 1 - Genesis
Evade Spiritborn

The Codex of Power is a collection of Legendary Aspects you can imprint onto Rare or Legendary items at the Occultist. They unlock after completing specific Dungeons located around Sanctuary or salvaging items with these powers. Check out our Map Tool to locate these Dungeons.

For leveling, there are a few powers that can significantly help you if you have the funds to imprint them. In addition, keep an eye out for powerful Unique items you may find for this or other builds. You can also gamble obols, or barter with Pale Marks, to gain Legendary gear. More about bartering can be found here.

Jackpot Drops

As you level up, you may get lucky and find some great random drops. Some of these can massively amplify your power and speed up the leveling by switching to another build. Keep in mind that there are many more Aspects and Uniques that can be useful to multiple builds; this just lists some of the most impactful ones. While we usually recommend starting with Endgame Builds around Paragon 100, you often can make them work earlier with these drops:

Build-defining Aspects

  • Unyielding Hits & Redirected Force are massive multipliers for damage.
  • Hectic is great for cooldown reduction.
  • Retribution is great for early increase in damage pickup as a dungeon unlock for your Codex.

Build-defining Uniques

  1. Wushe Nak Pa - amplifies Eagle Main Hall (EMH) damage significantly.
  2. Jacinth Shell - amplifies multiple Endgame Builds via massive increase in armor and cooldown reduction.
  3. Loyalty's Mantle - amplifies EMH damage and lowers The Seeker's cooldown when combined with Eagle Secondary Hall (ESH).
  4. Temerity - provides massive increase in defensive survivability via barriers from healing (that you do from Vital Strikes).

Learn more details in our articles covering the Codex of Power and Unique Items.

Runes

Season 1 - Genesis
Evade Spiritborn

You can have up to two Runewords in your setup, each consisting of one Ritual and one Invocation Rune. Socket them in Two-Handed Weapons if your build calls for them, otherwise place them into your Armor pieces to replace normal gems. The Evade Spiritborn focuses on the following combos:

Best in Slot

  • Cem +Tun - Stuns enemies and additional damage, which pairs well with Retribution.
  • Cir +Gar - Provides additional Critical Strike Chance.

Alternative choices

As long as you haven't unlocked the final setup or found the top runes, you can also benefit from these options:

  • Qua - Increase movespeed, if you're not at the cap, to increase damage from Brilliance
  • Zec - Reduces the cooldown of your Ultimate skill.
  • Que - Druid's Earthen Bulwark grants a Barrier and later synergy with Viscous Shield and/or Conceited.
  • Mot - Dark Shroud helps with direct damage reduction.
  • Xal - For extra defense via increased maximum life.
  • Igni - Another good way of generating offering.
  • Wat - Decrepify helps with stagger and defense. It executes enemies at 10% HP and can be combined with Xol in your other Runeword to generate large amounts of offering.
  • Qax - For doubling your damage.

Learn more about Runes and how they work in our dedicated Runewords Overview.

Mercenaries

Season 1 - Genesis
Evade Spiritborn

Mercenaries are unlocked during the Vessel of Hatred campaign and assist you in battle. There are 4 separate Mercenaries to choose from, each with their own skill trees and abilities. You can have one hired (permanent) mercenary during solo play and a reinforcement who assists you from time to time in certain situations.

Hired: Raheir

He provides you with Fortify, Stuns, some extra damage, more Armor and reduces incoming damage with Provoke. Beware that he's not present when playing in groups, that you lose his benefits.

NOTE: You can use Subo instead, if you are wanting his ability to see monsters on the mini-map.

Reinforcement: Aldkin

Call Aldkin, to cast Field of Languish when you cast any skill in combat to reduce incoming damage. This also only happens when his reinforcement timer is off of cooldown.

Learn more about Mercenaries and how they work in our dedicated Mercenaries Overview.

How To Level

Season 1 - Genesis
Evade Spiritborn

In Diablo 4, you can level by completing the Campaign, collecting Grim Favors for the Tree of Whispers, completing Helltide activities, grinding Dungeons, clearing Strongholds, fighting in the Undercity of Kurast or interacting with the Seasonal Mechanics. While there are many ways to level up in Diablo 4, not all of them are equal.

Seasonal / Alt Leveling

  • Complete the Seasonal Questline in order to progress your Season Rank to unlock additional perks, loot and work on your Seasonal Powers.
  • Preferably stay on Hard difficulty or above to benefit from the extra XP multipliers as long as your clear speed remains fast. Use power jumps (e.g. key passive, legendary drops) to bump up the difficulty.
  • Complete the Dungeons needed for any Legendary Aspects from your Codex of Power.
  • From level 1-60 you should focus on earning experience in Helltides by combining Helltide activities with Grim Favors for the Tree of Whispers or completing Gathering Legion Events.
  • Strongholds provide a big boost of experience for little time investment. Make sure to clear all of them after around level 50.
  • If you're playing an Alt, make sure to use Tempers when you have the materials to do so.
  • Find the most efficient way of leveling your character in detail with our Speed Leveling Guide.

Endgame Transition

Season 1 - Genesis
Evade Spiritborn

As you approach level 60 with the Evade Spiritborn, you unlock higher item power gear that represents a massive jump in character power. This is a good time to refresh your setup with new tempers and imprints. At level 60, Paragon Levels and The Pit unlock. Work towards Tier 10 to enter Torment 1, where the Endgame begins.

If you plan on continuing to use Evade with an Endgame guide, start to transition to the Endgame Starter variant and begin hunting for the Unique Wushe Nak Pa. Once you have it, you need to make a few changes. First you need to add +Seeker charges on your Rings, switch your Ultimate skill to Seeker with 5 skill points and upgraded to Harmonious Seeker to guarantee critical strikes.

At this point, your setup should look roughly like the Endgame Starter Variant before you dive into min/maxing with Uniques, Mythics & Masterworking. With better gear, more levels and Glyphs, you can push further and eventually unlock higher difficulties for increased rewards.

This step marks the end of the leveling guide. Below is the Paragon setup to get you started in Torment difficulty, but ideally, you should now transition towards the endgame version of this build or choose another of your liking.

Paragon & Glyphs

Use the slider to see progression steps. By Paragon 150, you should be getting ready to transition to an Endgame Build. By Paragon 200, leveling slows down significantly and all important Rare clusters, Legendary nodes and Glyph sockets should be unlocked. Legendary nodes provide a massive damage increase and it is more important for you to reach all four nodes prior to even unlocking Glyph sockets on your fourth & fifth Paragon Boards.

Afterwards, you can min/max your build with minor tweaks and by picking up additional smaller nodes.

Loading paragon board...

NOTE: If you don't feel like rotating your Paragon boards going from Paragon 100 -> 150, then you can just use the layout from Paragon 150 and follow the progression as close as you can from Paragon 100 and onward.

NOTE: The Paragon "Board Rush" method is the most effective and powerful min/max outcome, where you unlock all 4 Legendary nodes prior to even focusing on all 5 Glyphs.

Glyph Leveling Priorities

To Level 15

  1. Spirit
  2. Jagged Plume
  3. Talon
  4. Colossal
  5. Canny

To Level 46

  1. Jagged Plume
  2. Talon
  3. Canny
  4. Spirit
  5. Colossal

Learn more details about the Paragon System in our in-depth Paragon Boards and Glyphs guide.
