Welcome to the Gorilla Thorns Spiritborn Endgame Guide! This NEW build focuses on dealing Offensive Thorns damage with Spiritborn's Gorilla Primary/Main Spirit Hall (GMH) and maximizing the newly modified Crown of Lucion. This game style is NOT about sitting back and waiting to get hit. Monsters won't stand a chance as you smash everything the game can throw at you; including the new "Torment 5" difficulty from Bloody Sigils.
Gorilla Thorns Spiritborn Endgame Build Guide for Diablo IV Season 12 - Slaughter
You use Rake as your Thorns damage delivery tool due to its inherent Attack Speed, Cooldown Reduction, Ferocity stacking, and number of triggered hits via Wild Claws. This allows you to apply your Thorns multiple times per Rake.
Wushe Nak Pa increases your Gorilla Main Hall(GMH) Thorns damage. Toxic Skin combined with Balazan's Maxtlatl doubles your damage. Add Xan rune to make your Thorns Critically Strike and Overpower.
Due to Gorilla's innate great defensive capabilities, you become very tanky, very fast. Your defenses & offenses also get amplified by using Counterattack as well as Armored Hide.
All in all, the Gorilla Thorns Spiritborn is an AoE powerhouse that offers a unique way to play the class and can take on the highest challenges in the game. Let's get started!
NOTE the information outside of Build Variants is described from the perspective of the Mythic variant.
Season Theme - Kill Streaks
The Season 12 theme brings Killstreaks and Bloodied Items to Diablo 4. Slay enemies in succession to begin a streak that grants increasingly greater benefits based on which affixes you roll on your gear in addition to seasonal reputation and experience. Tiers are divided as follows: Killstreak (0-99) - Carnage (100-249) - Devastation (250-499) - Bloodbath (500-999) - Massacre (1000-9000) - Fresh Meat! (9001+). For most instanced content types, you can typically expect to reach up to the 4th tier (Bloodbath). Additionally, you can find Bloodied Sigils for Nightmare Dungeons, Infernal Hordes and Lair Bosses that offer greater challenges and rewards (introducing "pseudo Torment 5").
Bloodied Items
Bloodied affixes are bonus affixes that can randomly roll on gear and come in three categories: Rampage (armor), Feast (weapons), Hunger (jewelry). The first two offer minor combat effects while the latter boosts specific loot drops, which doesn't impact your build. Recommended affixes for this build are:
- Rampage: %Dexterity, Movement Speed, Max Life
- Feast: Gain Berserking
- Hunger: Increase chance for Hunger Items (to get more amulets)
There is more to discover including the new seasonal Slaughterhouses and how to transform into the Butcher himself. Learn more details about the season theme in our full Season Guide.
技能与玩法
- Rake is our main ability, but it doesn't contribute any meaningful damage; instead it's what you use to trigger all other effects.
- Each cast procs Gorilla Thorns.
- Adds Ferocity
- Reduces cooldowns
- Provides Fire damage to have a Lucky Hit Chance (LHC) of triggeringWildfire.
- Wild Claws acts as a second cast; doubling Thorns, +barrier, and the other above effects.
- Ravager adds extra Fire hits, forWildfire, with each attack.
- For farming, or if you're struggling with Vigor Regen, use Measured Ravager. This will also dash you from pack to pack.
- With bossing, use Replenishing Ravager, which gets fueled by Fueled (pun intended).
- This isn't used on the Starter variant.
- Vortex lets you group up enemies with ease & provides a source of Knock-down/crowd control (CC).
- Counterattack grants you additional Dodge chance and makes you Dodge all direct attacks when activated.
- Counterattack also increases your Thorns damage with the Hubris glyph.
- Toxic Skin is for doubling your Thorns damage to poisoned enemies. It is not on your bar, but is activated through Wound Drinker & Balazan's Maxtlatl in the Ancestral, Mythic, and Push variants. It is on your skill bar for the Starter variant.
Skill Rotation
- Press Armored Hide & then launch The Protector at the closest pack, which will get pulled into a group. This will ensure you can press Armored Hide again when its no longer active due to "Intricacy loop". This will also refill some Vigor due to Endurance.
- Vortex enemies to knock them down and re-group them, near the Protector.
- Spam Rake at all times to deal damage.
- Keep up Ravager, Counterattack as much as possible, though they should not be part of the Intricacy loop.
- You do need to Block though, which can't happen while Counterattack is active as it gives you 100% Dodge, at least every 10 seconds for Redirected Force.
- Activate The Protector as often as possible for various buffs like Supremacy and Resolution.
- You can use the "Intricacy loop" with Vortex during farming or dealing with white mobs; then Armored Hide on loop during a boss fight.
Spiritborn Spirit Hall
Primary: Gorilla deals 150% base of your Thorns as damage on every attack, while also generating 2.5% Barrier per skill cast; which due to Wild Claws makes Thorns hit twice and increases the barrier generation to 5%.
Secondary: Eagle provides additional Critical Strikes every other hit and a Vulnerable damage multiplier.

流派变体
This section is designed to guide your Gorilla Thorns Spiritborn from just starting out in the early game all the way into the very late endgame using the three variants Starter, Ancestral ,and Mythic. At the final step, you should be fully decked out with a great all-rounder build. From there, follow the other min/max variants if you want to optimize around certain activities such as Push (Tower/Pit), Speedfarm and more.
If you are fresh in Torment 1 coming from a leveling guide, this is where you begin, if you have the prerequisites met. Since only some Aspects can be guaranteed from Dungeon unlocks for the Codex of Power, focus on acquiring the additional aspects via gambling with Murmuring Obols or bartering at the Den. More about bartering Pale Marks can be found here.

装备 / 佣兵 / 符文
This section describes how to optimize your Gorilla Thorns Spiritborn with the right Item Affixes, Runes and Mercenary choices.
To enable the Rake Spiritborn to perform optimally, hunt for these stats on your gear with good rolls and aim to Temper ⚒️ & Masterwork Crit them accordingly. Keep in mind that certain stats, such as Extra Size Tempers, Attack Speed, Critical Strike Chance and more, have caps that may affect your priorities according to the items and Paragon points available at that moment.

常见问题与机制
Take a look into this section for a deeper dive on frequently asked questions, common mistakes and the underlying mechanics of how the Rake Spiritborn works.
The build works really well when you decimate everything in seconds, but may get overwhelmed if fights are long against high level monsters. There are several adjustments you can make when you have trouble with more difficult content:
- Use defensive consumables (Reddamine Buzz, Soothing Spices, Elixir of Fortitude II).
- Roll Maximum Life instead of offensive stats on as many pieces as possible.
- Kite enemies when they become Unstoppable.
- Replace an offensive rune with Mot, Que or Xal.
Mechanics
- Counterattack can stack a maximum duration of 6 seconds, which can be refreshed indefinitely with enough cooldown reduction.
- There is no forced gap or downtime in the 100% dodge effect.
- Some damage over time and ground effects cannot be dodged, even if they hit instead of dealing DoT damage. Most notably, Explosive Elites are very dangerous when your survivability greatly depends on high uptime of Counterattack.
Noteworthy undodgeable effects:
- Bartuc: Nothing
- Varshan: Nothing
- Grigoire: Pillar beams, ground tiles
- Zir: Blood Pools
- Beast: Line patterns, star pattern
- Urivar: Triangle slam, spear zaps
- Duriel: Spit, circle slam, devour
- Andariel: Poison bolt, ground circles, fire beam, mega beam, lightning ground effect, outside storm
- Harbinger: Ground circles, jump, fireball spit, doggos
- Belial: Everything
- Pit shadows: Lilith slams, Lilith waves, Balrog mortars
- Elite affixes: Explosive, Fire Enchanted
BD 总结
The Gorilla Thorns Spiritborn is NEW powerful AoE speedfarmer that nukes everything around it with ease. Special thanks/shoutout to Sanctuary's Spiritborn Zero 2 Hero Crew.
- Stack Thorns where you can to maximize the effect of Gorilla and Balazan's Maxtlatl. In this build you do not care about Balazan's Maxtlatl's poison part, only its Thorns are important.
- Stack the newly updated Crown of Lucion to the max.
- Blast packs from close range with Rake, while resetting your cooldowns.
- Call in your trusty The Protector friend to group up enemies, generate Barrier and reduce incoming damage.
- Happy blasting! 🚀
