Welcome to the Mighty Throw Barbarian Endgame Guide! This is a comprehensive guide covering our latest skill addition, Mighty Throw, the strongest Weapon Mastery skill in the Barbarian arsenal for Season 12!
Mighty Throw Barbarian Endgame Build Guide for Diablo IV Season 12 - Slaughter
This is a skill that hurls multiple weapons at once, thanks to Herculean Spectacle, and can typically be played in three distinct ways, each with its own strengths and trade-offs:
- As a low cost, generatorless, spam-heavy Warrior's Mighty Throw setup, built around rapid throws and consistent damage using the The Third Blade.
- As a Fury-scaling nuke build, emphasizing charge-and-release gameplay with massive Warrior's Mighty Throw hits every 12 seconds.
- As a high cost "shockwave" powerhouse, multiplying your Fighter's Mighty Throw detonation through weapon swapping for screen-tearing AoE pressure, fully leveraging The Third Blade as well.
With the first option no longer viable due to Fury sustain issues and lack of damage multipliers, and the nuke playstyle being heavily impacted by recent changes to Delayed Extinction and Bane of Ahjad-Den —on top of requiring you to do little more than run around watching your buff bar during the 12-second downtime—we’ve instead chosen to focus on the remaining option: the "Pulsing Pikachu" playstyle, thanks to its superior raw damage potential.
In the late game, the build leverages the "Selig Low Life" combo that remains the strongest gearing setup of the season (even without Season 11 Sanctifications). Doing so massively increases our Fury pool and Damage while making sure to keep our Health as low as possible minimizes the damage redirected by Melted Heart of Selig, effectively allowing us to not care about defenses at all.. And with that, let’s start throwing!
Requirement for this build
- The Third Blade is mandatory — do not play this build without it. This item is needed to turn Mighty Throw into a Core Skill, allowing it to be spammed without a cooldown.
Note that information outside of Build Variants is described from the perspective of the Mythic variant.
赛季主题与构筑适配
The Season 12 theme brings Killstreaks and Bloodied Items to Diablo 4. Slay enemies in succession to begin a streak that grants increasingly greater benefits based on which affixes you roll on your gear in addition to seasonal reputation and experience. Tiers are divided as follows: Killstreak (0-99) - Carnage (100-249) - Devastation (250-499) - Bloodbath (500-999) - Massacre (1000-9000) - Fresh Meat! (9001+). For most instanced content types, you can typically expect to reach up to the 4th tier (Bloodbath). Additionally, you can find Bloodied Sigils for Nightmare Dungeons, Infernal Hordes and Lair Bosses that offer greater challenges and rewards (introducing "pseudo Torment 5").
Bloodied Items
Bloodied affixes are bonus affixes that can randomly roll on gear and come in three categories: Rampage (armor), Feast (weapons), Hunger (jewelry). The first two offer minor combat effects while the latter boosts specific loot drops, which doesn't impact your build. Recommended affixes for this build are:
- Rampage: Movement Speed (1 roll), Primary Core Stat, Attack Speed (max 1 roll)
- Feast: Berserking (preferred), Chain Hook (alternate)
- Hunger: Experience Gained or personal preference

技能与玩法
- (2H Mace) Bash is our primary Basic Skill, providing guaranteed Overpowers through Combat Bash, strong Fury generation, and high Fortify values. When paired with Hooves of the Mountain God, these benefits are amplified even further in AoE situations.
- (2H Polearm) Mighty Throw is our primary damage dealer, built around chain-exploding Pulse damage through Fighter's Mighty Throw, while also generating massive Barriers! The Third Blade turns it into a spammable, 100+ Fury cost Core Skill (Encroaching Wrath and Ring of Red Furor), with every cast triggering Fortify (Irrepressible) and Vulnerable (Expose Vulnerability). Any damage modifiers applied to the next cast are also inherited by its Pulses. While snapshotting no longer carries over between casts, the effect remains strong enough to justify fully boosting every throw. The +% Mighty Throw Pulse size Temper is no longer required to hit the same target with your pulses.
- Hammer of the Ancients as a Fury pool and Fury generation steroid thanks to the Enhanced Hammer of the Ancients stacks. Violent Hammer of the Ancients also provides a massive damage boost when your cast Overpowers
- Steel Grasp is only to be used as a support tool in order to quickly pack monster.
Skill Rotation
Buff Rotation - Whenever available
- Call of the Ancients when up or at least every <10 seconds to start generating Fury and gain the damage steroid.
- Ground Stomp when available, as it's our only monster packing tool.
- Rallying Cry for the Unstoppable, Fortify and Fury generation boost.
Buff Rotation - Every 4-5 seconds
- press Hammer of the Ancients in order to stack both Enhanced Hammer of the Ancients and Violent Hammer of the Ancients (with the guaranteed Overpower).
Main Rotation
- Alternate casts at melee range between Bash and Mighty Throw at a 1:1 ratio, and enjoy screen covering, boosted Overpowers!
- Use Steel Grasp to pack monsters or stagger bosses faster.
Arsenal System
The Two-Handed Mace is used as the Bash assigned weapon, and the Polearm is used as the Mighty Throw assigned weapon.
Given the weapon swapping nature, weapon specific Expertise and Skill Tree Passive bonuses like Wallop and Brute Force still apply half the time.
Technique slot: We choose the Two-Handed Axe Expertise that allows us to deal x10% more damage to Vulnerable enemies and gain a +10% Critical Strike Chance.

流派变体
This section is designed to guide your Mighty Throw Barbarian from a fresh level 60 into the very late endgame using the two variants Ancestral and Mythic. At the final step, you should be fully decked out with a great all-rounder build. From there, follow the other min/max variants if you want to optimize around certain activities such as Push (Tower/Pit), Speedfarm and more.
The goal here is to progress through the Torment difficulties as you unlock Ancestrals, Paragon points, all Legendary Aspects, Temper mods and the most important Uniques to pilot this build. Some Legendary Aspects are used temporarily to fill slots that may be replaced with more Unique items later on.

- None, this is the version detailed in this guide.
Skill Tree Changes
- Skills & Passive changes (check the skill tree).
Gear Progression
- As you upgrade your gear to Uniques, Ancestrals and reach higher Paragon, your power surges rapidly. Make sure to focus on defensive stats (esp. Max Life, Armor and Resistances) in order to survive progressing into higher difficulties.
- Focus on getting Cooldown Reduction and 1x Resource Cost Reduction Greater Affix (on one of your Two-Handers). The goal here is to have Mighty Throw cost 100 to 113 Fury, not less!
- Start your Unique item hunt using our Loot Table Cheat Sheet and prioritize:
- The Third Blade - makes Mighty Throw a spammable Core skill and adds a Fury Cost.
- After that comes:
- Crown of Lucion - the increased Fury Cost paired with Unbridled Rage[/d4-skill] makes our [d4-skill id=1611316 mods=01]Mighty Throw trigger Encroaching Wrath each cast. The Cooldown Reduction affix also especially valuable.
- Bane of Ahjad-Den - massive bonus ranks and Cooldown Reduction.
- Tibault's Will - even more offensive affixes and a decent damage multiplier on top.
- Battle Trance - very competitive Amulet that is easy to farm; has very potent stats and effect.
- TIP 1: You gain the Frenzy stacks passively thanks to the "20% chance" implicit Lucky Hit Effect.
- TIP 2: You don't have to have Frenzy on your bar to gain it's AB (enhanced/advanced) nodes effects, thanks to that same Lucky Hit effect.

The Aspect of Delayed Extinction is the culprit here, we don't use it this season as the recent nerfs made it very hard to use.

BD 总结
Despite the never ending wave of nerfs being thrown at it, the Mighty Throw Barbarian remains an absolute beast in pretty much all content. Here's why it is a great build:
- The hardest-hitting Barbarian Weapon Mastery Skill.
- High damage output from guaranteed Overpowers.
- Extremely high defense thanks to multiple damage reduction sources, as well as permanent Fortify and Barrier.
- Good screen clearing power from remotely spamming triple weapon-based explosions.
- Fairly easy to play; alternates between two skills most of the time
