Welcome to the Shred Druid endgame guide! This build is all about dashing quickly from enemy to enemy, dealing massive Critical Strikes that are further enhanced through Stormclaw's Aspect. It boasts exceptional mobility and clear speed that rivals the fastest builds in the game while also being one of the easiest to play. Single target damage, on the other hand, leaves a bit to be desired.
Shred Druid Endgame Build Guide for Diablo IV Season 12 - Slaughter
The Shred Druid features two Mythic Uniques, but absolutely does not require them to play at a high level, making it new player and Season starter friendly! Since Shred is a mobility skill, Xan packs quite the punch when paired with Moni, allowing you to Overpower every 6th hit!
Use Shred to Dash around the battlefield, proccing Stormclaw's every time you land a Critical Strike, a condition which is often guaranteed by Waxing Gibbous. Maximize the effect of Stormclaw's echoed damage by grouping mobs together with Kry.
Grizzly Rage archetypes dominate the Druid class in Season 12, and the Shred Druid is no exception, as the improved multipliers from the Ultimate itself and Rampaging Werebeast are too good to pass up.
In this guide, we teach you all you need to know to be successful with the Shred Druid in Diablo 4. Let's dive into it!
Note that information outside of Build Variants is described from the perspective of the Mythic variant.
赛季主题与构筑适配
The Season 12 theme brings Killstreaks and Bloodied Items to Diablo 4. Slay enemies in succession to begin a streak that grants increasingly greater benefits based on which affixes you roll on your gear in addition to seasonal reputation and experience. Tiers are divided as follows: Killstreak (0-99) - Carnage (100-249) - Devastation (250-499) - Bloodbath (500-999) - Massacre (1000-9000) - Fresh Meat! (9001+). For most instanced content types, you can typically expect to reach up to the 4th tier (Bloodbath). Additionally, you can find Bloodied Sigils for Nightmare Dungeons, Infernal Hordes and Lair Bosses that offer greater challenges and rewards (introducing "pseudo Torment 5").
Bloodied Items
Bloodied affixes are bonus affixes that can randomly roll on gear and come in three categories: Rampage (armor), Feast (weapons), Hunger (jewelry). The first two offer minor combat effects while the latter boosts specific loot drops, which doesn't impact your build. Recommended affixes for this build are:
- Rampage: Attack Speed (0-1 roll), Primary Core Stat. Max Life and Cooldown are worth consideration
- Feast: Berserking, Cooldown Reset. Chain Hook is worth consideration.
- Hunger: Experience Gained or personal preference

技能与玩法
- Shred is your primary damage skill and also provides tremendous mobility. Each Critical Strike procs Stormclaw's Aspect. With Agile Wolf, you can cast as many as 4 Shreds for the Spirit cost of one.
- Grizzly Rage is your endgame Ultimate of choice. Dire Wolf's Aspect is a must-have, as this transforms Grizzly Rage into a Werewolf Ultimate and allows you to use Shred while its active. Unlike in previous seasons, its uptime is limited. Fortunately, Rampaging Werebeast and Rabid Bear have both been reworked to be effective outside of Grizzly Rage. In season 12, you can attempt to instantly reset Grizzly Rage with a Feast modifier.
- Blood Howl is a solid Heal that also amplifies your damage and defense thanks to Backlash and Vigilance, respectively. Cast it as needed to Heal and maintain these Passives and at least once at the start of Grizzly Rage to evoke Innate Blood Howl's bonus.
- Cyclone Armor disappears from your skill bar while Grizzly Rage is active but continues to provide passive elemental Damage Reduction.
- Maul is a backup Spirit generator that transforms into Claw during Grizzly Rage. You rarely need to utilize it.
- As mentioned, Grizzly Rage has downtime now. As an additional defensive measure, use Earthen Bulwark during its downtime for a massive Barrier and Unstoppable.
Skill Rotation
- When you first enter a zone and before entering Grizzly Rage, alternate between Maul and Shred to stack Quickshift.
- Once in Grizzly Rage, be sure to activate Blood Howl at least once to gain the damage bonus from Innate Blood Howl. Use this Defensive skill liberally to Heal and maintain the bonuses of Vigilance and Backlash.
- Simply Shred from pack to pack to eliminate mobs! Note, however, that the Shred Druid thrives most in heavy density thanks to Stormclaw's, and the fastest clears require you to play around the pulls from Kry.
- Spam Blood Howl frequently on Bosses to maintain the guaranteed Critical Strikes from Waxing Gibbous.
- When you fall out of Grizzly Rage, utilize the active ability of Cyclone Armor to group mobs together. Earthen Bulwark is also available for a sizable Barrier and emergency Unstoppable. Note that casting either skill returns you to Human form, and you need to activate Innate Blood Howl to regain its benefit.
- Dropping out of Grizzly Rage can be perilous, as you lose a significant amount of Damage, Movement Speed, a on-kill Recovery. In season 12, you can try to bypass this otherwise unrecoverable cooldown by refraining from using other Cooldowns and getting a few kills to proc your Feast bloodied affix.
Spirit Boons
Druids can choose 5 out of 16 Passive bonuses (Boons) from 4 different Spirits. Bond with one of the Spirits (by clicking its Portrait in the Spirit Boon menu) to activate two of its Boons. Use the following Boons:
Deer Spirit: Wariness
Eagle Spirit: Avian Wrath
Wolf Spirit: Energize
Snake Spirit: Overload
Bond with the Eagle Spirit and activate Iron Feather. Swooping Attacks is viable for additional Attack Speed as needed, as is Gift of the Stag for Spirit generation. Note that Overload is non-negotiable, as your Lightning Bolts are the sole source of Poison in this setup.

流派变体
This section is designed to guide your Shred Druid from a fresh level 60 into the very late endgame using the three variants Starter, Ancestral and Mythic. At the final step, you should be fully decked out with a great all-rounder build. From there, follow the other min/max variants if you want to optimize around certain activities such as Push (Tower/Pit), Speedfarm and more.
If you are fresh in Torment 1 coming from a leveling guide, this is where you begin. Since only some Aspects can be guaranteed from Dungeon unlocks for the Codex of Power, focus on acquiring the additional aspects via gambling with Murmuring Obols or Pale Marks in the Mercenary Den.
Gear & Skills
- Early on in your progression, focus on stacking Maximum Life to survive. As you unlock higher power gear and Paragon points, you naturally scale your character into the higher difficulties and can start replacing some of these rolls with offensive stats or uniques.
- Early on, your Critical Strike Chance isn't up to snuff. So, to start, use Scythe Talons, temper Werewolf Critical Strike Chance, and focus this stat on your gear.
- Rabid Bear is a crucial pickup for the build, as it homogenizes the Physical Damage from Shred and the Lightning damage from Stormclaw's and fully enables synergies such as Toxic Claws and Keeper.
- At this point, both Bestial Rampage and Lupine Ferocity are reasonable Key Passives.
- Note that Life on Hit affixes are extremely valuable, and you want one or more rolls on your Weapon, Gloves, or Ring for quick recovery (as well as a roll of Lucky Hit: Chance to inflict vulnerable to apply the status).

装备 / 佣兵 / 符文
This section describes how to optimize your Shred Druid with the right Item Affixes, Runes and Mercenary choices.
To enable the Shred Druid to perform optimally, hunt for these stats on your gear with good rolls and aim to Temper ⚒️ & Masterwork Crit them accordingly. Keep in mind that certain stats, such as Extra Size Tempers, Attack Speed, Critical Strike Chance and more, have caps that may affect your priorities according to the items and Paragon points available at that moment.

常见问题与机制
Take a look into this section for a deeper dive on frequently asked questions, common mistakes and the underlying mechanics of how the Shred Druid works.
Waxing Gibbous is a no-brainer, as it has an amazing stat line and effectively allows you to drop Critical Strike Chance across the entire build. Before that, opt for a 1-handed Dagger or Sword.
Mechanics
Overpower Damage is a conditional damage modifier that turns your damage value cyan for non-critical strikes, and orange for critical strikes. It has a set 3% probability of occurring normally, but certain skills, passives, and aspects can guarantee that a skill Overpowers. The Shred Druid guarantees Overpowers every 6 hits with the combination of Moni-Xan. Unlike Critical Strikes, attacks Overpower per cast rather than per hit, meaning that abilities with multiple hits in one cast Overpower for each hit.
As of patch 1.2.0, there is a separate 0%-50%[x] multiplicative damage bonus when you Overpower that scales depending on your current health (with 50% being the max when you are at full health). This multiplier cannot be increased by any means and is applied to the damage calculation as a global multiplier. In Season 9, all additive damage previously associated with Maximum and Fortified Life is removed.

BD 总结
The Shred Druid is easily one of the fastest builds in the game, flying around the battlefield as it dashes from pack to pack. It's relatively easy to gear, making it a great starter build for Druids. Shred is at its weakest in single target situations when it can't effectively leverage Stormclaw's Aspect.
