Welcome to the Stinger Spiritborn Endgame Guide! This build relies on Centipede Skills and focuses on high Poison damage output to unleash devastating explosions making it an AoE powerhouse.
Stinger Spiritborn Endgame Build Guide for Diablo IV Season 12 - Slaughter
There are multiple ways to play Stinger and this build transitions through a few of them. We start out by relying on the Poison from Pestilent Swarms, an effect created and amplified by various aspects and uniques such as Pestilence, Infestation and Ring of Writhing Moon.
Thanks to Chaos Armor in Season 10, we can supercharge this build in the lategame by combining Rod of Kepeleke, Sepazontec and Combined Strikes to constantly hit everything around us with massive, screenclearing hits, making the above Pestilent Swarms obsolete. Like many other Spiritborn builds, we also pick up Unyielding Hits and stack armor for another great damage boost.
All in all, the Stinger Spiritborn offers incredible damage output and scales well into the lategame while maintaining good defenses and high mobility. Let's get started!
赛季主题与构筑适配
The Season 10 theme is Infernal Chaos. Infernal portals have sprung up in Helltides, Nightmare Dungeons and Infernal Hordes. Killing the enemies that spring forth grants Infernal Warp (Seasonal Currency) and progresses the Seasonal Questline, where you unlock Chaos Perks. You can equip any combination of 3 Magic, Rare and Legendary Perks. You can also have one Unique Perk, unlocked by killing Bartuc in the Infernal Hordes starting in Torment 1.
Endgame Chaos Perks
Base Chaos Perks
- Combined Strikes grants powerful AoE hits but we need to Evade-Thunderspike with Sepazontec to reset the cooldown between each hit.
- Unstable Power is a massive damage multiplier as Rod of Kepeleke makes Stinger count as a Basic skill, giving us a guaranteed Overpower for every attack. Note that this puts a cooldown on your skills and the Starter variant runs a different setup.
- Crazy Brew transforms our healing potion into a massive DPS cooldown for more attack speed and extra resource cost scaling with Rod of Kepeleke.
Unique Chaos Perk
- Brawn Over Brains means we need to stack much less resistances, gain tons of extra HP and boost our Overpower damage.
Alternate Chaos Perks
- Accelerating Chaos can be used instead of Crazy Brew for slightly more cooldown reduction.
- Combined Strikes + Alacrity + A Beast Cornered + Marred Guard are used for the Starter variant of this build.
- AVOID USING Alacrity, Back Off!, Power Siphon & Invigorating Attacks as they either reduce your damage or straight up render the build dysfunctional (once you have unlocked the lategame setups).
Chaos Armor
In addition to the above perks, you may find ancestral Chaos Armor, twisted versions of a hand-picked list of existing Unique items that roll in a different slot from the original with increased power. Note that getting exactly the right setup is very difficult, but in most cases these can be used interchangeably if you find them in different slots. For more information, make sure to check out the item progression and variant sections below!
Best-in-Slot Chaos Armor
- Rod of Kepeleke (having this frees up the weapon slot for a legendary with tempers + aspect)
- Sepazontec (key item, allows the Evade-Thunderspike combo to reset your Stinger cooldown from Combined Strikes)
- Harmony of Ebewaka (adds more skill tags and massive damage scaling)
- Hesha e Kesungi (important for skill ranks, cooldown and The Protector synergy)
- Fists of Fate (a great damage buff and help with lucky hit procs to fill the last slot, but can be replaced by other options like Shroud of False Death or Heir of Perdition until you can fit this)
Alternate Chaos Armor
- Locran's Talisman (extra damage)
- Banished Lord's Talisman (skill ranks, overpowers)
- Band of First Breath (more damage and we evade anyway)
- Jacinth Shell (helps with cooldowns early on)
- Wushe Nak Pa (big barriers and easy cooldown resets)

技能与玩法
- Stinger is your main ability. We solve its hefty resource cost in various ways throughout the progression, eventually casting with full Vigor every time for maximum output with Rod of Kepeleke.
- Ravager adds extra hits that stack Potent and can trigger Wildfire to reduce our cooldowns quickly.
- Armored Hide is your main defensive tool and an important source of Resolve. Keep an eye on your stacks and activate it as needed for Unstoppable..
- Counterattack is a great defensive tool and adds more crit damage from its upgrade.
- The Protector is your Ultimate Ability. Together with Hesha e Kesungi it has a short cooldown and adds damage, barriers, damage reduction and pulls in enemies.
- For the early endgame setup, we start out with The Devourer, Rushing Claw and Rock Splitter along with a few other adjustments on the skill tree.
- Two points have to be added in any basic skill in order to unlock clusters further down the tree.
Skill Rotation
- (With Sepazontec) Evade to autocast Thunderspike, resetting the cooldowns of Evade and Stinger.
- Press Stinger to deal damage.
- Rinse & repeat.
- Keep up Ravager as much as possible.
- Cast The Protector into packs of elites.
- Activate Counterattack as needed.
Spiritborn Spirit Hall
Primary: Eagle feathers apply vulnerable and trigger Vital Strikes multiple times every time we attack or evade, refilling life and resources.
Secondary: Gorilla grants permanent Unstoppable and allows to benefit from Unyielding Hits (with Harmony of Ebewaka).

巅峰与雕文
Use the slider to see the progression steps. At around Paragon 200, leveling slows down significantly and all important Rare clusters, Legendary nodes and Glyph sockets should be unlocked. Afterwards, you can min/max your build with minor tweaks and by picking up additional smaller nodes.
Glyph Leveling Priorities
To Level 15
- Canny*
- Wildfire**
- Spirit
- Hubris
- Colossal
To Level 46
- Spirit
- Hubris
- Canny
- Colossal
- Wildfire
* For high tier Pit pushing, this can be replaced by Guzzler which offers a slightly higher multiplier when you keep your potion count low.
** While we don't benefit from the Fire damage for this build, the cooldown reduction effect triggered with Ravager is so strong that we give up this Glyph slot for it.

Runes
You can have up to two Runewords in your setup, each consisting of one Ritual and one Invocation Rune. Socket them in Two-Handed Weapons if your build calls for them, otherwise place them into your Armor pieces to replace normal gems. The Stinger Spiritborn focuses on the following combos:
Best in Slot
- Cem + Que - Grants Earthen Bulwark for defense and Viscous Shield
- Neo + Mot - Grants Dark Shroud for better survivability
Alternative choices
As long as you haven't unlocked the final setup or found the top Runes, you can also benefit from these options:
- Qax for more damage (especially in pit pushing)
- Poc - Another way of generating offering
- Xal - For extra defense
- Ohm - War Cry provides a damage buff
- Thul - The Freeze adds more defense and an extra damage buff
Learn more about Runes and how they work in our dedicated Runewords Overview and Runewords Tier List.
Mercenaries
Mercenaries are unlocked during the Vessel of Hatred campaign and assist you in battle. There are 4 separate Mercenaries to choose from, each with their own skill trees and abilities. You can have one hired (permanent) mercenary during solo play and a reinforcement who assists you from time to time in certain situations.
Hired: Varyana
She grants extra attack speed (cap 1) with Hysteria but more importantly a ton of healing via Taste of Flesh. In addition to keeping us alive, it also fuels Replenishing Ravager to keep going effectively permanently.
Reinforcement: Aldkin
We choose Field of Languish for extra damage reduction.

Stat Priorities & Item Progression
To enable the Stinger Spiritborn to perform optimally, hunt for these stats on your gear with good rolls and aim to Temper ⚒️ & Masterwork Crit ↑ them accordingly. The green arrow ↑ indicates which affix is most impactful to Masterwork Crit, and it does not indicate how many Masterwork Crits you need on that particular affix. Keep in mind that certain stats, such as Armor, Resistances, Extra Size Tempers, Attack Speed, and more, have caps that may affect your priorities according to the items and Paragon points available at that moment.
Recommended Endgame Stat Thresholds
- 25+ total Stinger ranks
- 240+ Vigor
- 1,800+ Dexterity
- 3,000+ Armor
- All Resistances 75%+
- 15,000+ Life
Recommended Consumables: Soothing Spices, Reddamine Buzz, Spiral Morning & Elixir of Resourcefulness II. Alternatively use Song of the Mountain to cap out your Armor if necessary.
Item Progression Goals
Before you dive into the Endgame with the Stinger Centipede Spiritborn, take a look at this overview of the items used in the build. See below for further details about the different progression steps and variants. Some of your Skill Tree choices depend on what Legendary Aspects and Unique items are available to you. Keep in mind that while we can guarantee that everyone has access to the same Codex of Power Aspects, the exact progression is different for everyone.
Learn more details and how to farm Legendary Aspects and Uniques in our General Farming Guide.
流派变体
This section is designed to guide your Stinger Spiritborn from a fresh level 60 into the very late endgame using the three variants Starter, Ancestral and Mythic. At the final step, you should be fully decked out with a great all-rounder build. From there, follow the other min/max variants if you want to optimize around certain activities such as Pit Pushing, Speedfarming and more.
If you are fresh in Torment 1 coming from a leveling guide, this is where you begin. Since only some Aspects can be guaranteed from Dungeon unlocks for the Codex of Power, focus on acquiring the additional aspects via gambling with Murmuring Obols.

常见问题与机制
Once a guide is released, many players have questions on why and how we are approaching certain choices. In this section you can find the answers to the questions that have been asked the most.
The build works really well when you decimate everything in seconds, but may get overwhelmed if fights are long against high level monsters. There are several adjustments you can make when you have trouble with more difficult content:
- Check if your Armor & Resists are capped.
- Use defensive consumables.
- Roll Maximum Life instead of offensive stats on as many pieces as possible.
- Kite enemies when they become Unstoppable.
Mechanics
- Pestilent Swarms are spawned from effects like Pestilence, Infestation, Ring of Writhing Moon, High uptime of Measured Ravager or Tal.
- Swarms scale with general damage multipliers (e.g. Unyielding Hits, Conceited, Plains Power, Apex, Dexterity) and Stinger's base damage (through skill ranks) with Pestilence.
- They are a Centipede-based subskill and benefit from Centipede damage bonuses such as Centipede Damage tempers, Ravenous and Oppressive.
- Effects that specifically boost your skills but don't actually raise the base damage of Stinger such as Harmony of Ebewaka do NOT work for swarms.
- Pestilence makes swarms spiral outwards from the center of the Stinger AoE. Since they start with small circles, they can hit the same target up to 5 times.
- Ring of Writhing Moon displaces the spawn location to center it on the player, removing this multi-hit effect and reducing damage output.
