Welcome to the Zeal Paladin Endgame Guide! This build revolves around multi-hitting melee attacks that decimate everything in front of you. Taking full advantage of its signature weapon, Zeal embraces the Zealot playstyle and mows down anything in its path.
Zeal Paladin Endgame Build Guide for Diablo IV Season 12 - Slaughter
Death or Glory buffs Zeal and transforms it into a proper AoE skill that, when coupled together with Argent Veil, transforms you into a Deadly Storm of Steel.
By embracing the Zealot fantasy with Red Sermon, Zeal becomes the only Paladin build that doesn't use a Shield, and instead leans into a more offensive two-handed playstyle.
As a Zealot, it's all about hitting fast with no downtime, so the entire setup is built with that in mind. Stack Attack Speed, Cooldown Reduction and build into synergies such as Jacques' Fervor and Zealot's Covenant while spamming your Auras and other support abilities.
All in all, the Zeal Paladin is a simple-to-play melee fighter with an interesting resource puzzle and some of the greatest visual effects the game has to offer. Let's dive in!
Requirements for the Ancestral variant of this build
- Boots with "Attacks Reduce Evade's Cooldown by # Seconds".
Note that information outside of Build Variants is described from the perspective of the Mythic variant.
赛季主题与构筑适配
The Season 12 theme brings Killstreaks and Bloodied Items to Diablo 4. Slay enemies in succession to begin a streak that grants increasingly greater benefits based on which affixes you roll on your gear in addition to seasonal reputation and experience. Tiers are divided as follows: Killstreak (0-99) - Carnage (100-249) - Devastation (250-499) - Bloodbath (500-999) - Massacre (1000-9000) - Fresh Meat! (9001+). For most instanced content types, you can typically expect to reach up to the 4th tier (Bloodbath). Additionally, you can find Bloodied Sigils for Nightmare Dungeons, Infernal Hordes and Lair Bosses that offer greater challenges and rewards (introducing "pseudo Torment 5").
Bloodied Items
Bloodied affixes are bonus affixes that can randomly roll on gear and come in three categories: Rampage (armor), Feast (weapons), Hunger (jewelry). The first two offer minor combat effects while the latter boosts specific loot drops, which doesn't impact your build. Recommended affixes for this build are:
- Rampage: % Strength, % Life.
- Critical Strike Chance and Attack Speed to help fill any gear gaps.
- Feast: Every 25 Kills, Gain Berserking .
- Hunger: Up to preference.

技能与玩法
- Zeal is your main ability and thus your main source of damage in this build.
- Falling Star is the main mobility tool, used to jump from pack to pack or over obstacles.
- Fanaticism Aura adds Weaken and buffs damage, by providing a good amount of Attack Speed and Critical Strike Chance, ramping up with repeated attacks.
- Consecration provides healing, damage and Weaken.
- Defiance Aura recovers health and generates Resolve. It can be activated for Unstoppable when needed.
- Arbiter of Justice caps your Movement Speed and provides a easy way to apply Vulnerable.
- Note that the Starter variants include a Basic Skill and Rally for extra resources until the late game setup comes online.
Skill Rotation
- Spam/Hold Zeal to deal damage.
- Use Evade in Arbiter to auto-cast Zeal with Argent Veil on Cooldown.
- Once you have assembled all the Exodia pieces, you only need to hold Zeal down and spam Evade. You must have Boots with "Attacks Reduce Evade's Cooldown by # Seconds" for this to work.
- Keep Arbiter of Justice up 100% of the time.
- Activate Fanaticism Aura and Defiance Aura as often as possible to keep Crown of Lucion stacks up.
- Drop Consecration on Bosses and tough Elites.
Paladin Oath
As a Zealot, it's all about hitting as fast as possible and ramping up your damage. Make sure to leave no gaps in your output to benefit from all the different buffs.

流派变体
This section is designed to guide your Zeal Paladin from a fresh level 60 into the very late endgame using the three variants Starter, Ancestral and Mythic. At the final step, you should be fully decked out with a great all-rounder build. From there, follow the other min/max variants if you want to optimize around certain activities such as Push (Tower/Pit), Speedfarm and more.
If you are fresh in Torment 1 coming from a leveling guide, this is where you begin. Since only some Aspects can be guaranteed from Dungeon unlocks for the Codex of Power, focus on acquiring the additional aspects via gambling with Murmuring Obols or Pale Marks in the Mercenary Den.
Gear & Skills
- Early on in your progression, focus on stacking Maximum Life to survive. As you unlock higher power gear and Paragon points, you naturally scale your character into the higher difficulties and can start replacing some of these rolls with offensive stats or Uniques.
- In the beginning, you have to be more mindful about your resources. Use Rally as available, otherwise use your Basic Skill as needed.
- While the class-specific aspects are usually stronger, you can also use other generic bonuses like Edgemaster's, Inner Calm and more until you get them.
- Gamble Two-Handed Swords to acquire Red Sermon as early as possible. Once you get it, switch to the Ancestral variant.

装备 / 佣兵 / 符文
This section describes how to optimize your Zeal Paladin with the right Item Affixes, Runes and Mercenary choices.
To enable the Zeal Paladin to perform optimally, hunt for these stats on your gear with good rolls and aim to Temper ⚒️ & Masterwork Crit them accordingly. Keep in mind that certain stats, such as Extra Size Tempers, Attack Speed, Critical Strike Chance and more, have caps that may affect your priorities according to the items and Paragon points available at that moment.
Recommended Consumables: Soothing Spices, Reddamine Buzz, Spiral Morning & Elixir of Fortitude II.
常见问题与机制
Take a look into this section for a deeper dive on frequently asked questions, common mistakes and the underlying mechanics of how the Zeal Paladin works.
The build works really well when you decimate everything in seconds, but may get overwhelmed if fights are long against high level monsters. There are several adjustments you can make when you have trouble with more difficult content:
- Use defensive consumables (Reddamine Buzz, Soothing Spices, Elixir of Fortitude II).
- Roll Maximum Life instead of offensive stats on as many pieces as possible.
- Kite enemies when they become Unstoppable.
- Replace an offensive rune with Mot, Que or Xal.
Mechanics
- Zealot requires a hit to stack.
- The additional strikes trigger if any hit of an ability is a crit against any target.
- Extra hits scale off the crit damage of the skill's main hit, even if that wasn't the trigger, and can crit their own damage again.
- Extra hits carry Lucky Hit Chance.
BD 总结
The Zeal Paladin is a fast-paced allrounder that excels at mowing down packs and tough single targets alike.
- Spam Zeal to decimate everything around you.
- Heal up with Life on Hit, Fortify, Taste of Flesh and skills like Defiance Aura or Consecration.
- Stack enough cooldown reduction to keep up all of your buffs and Auras.
- Become a living flurry of swords!
